I love Edward Anthony Masen Cullen! One of Edward’s most enduring qualities is that he is a well-rounded, balanced individual, and I think that is why it was so easy for Bella to fall head over heels in love with him. He is very masculine and protective of Bella, and yet he can sweet and tender, too. He has depth and layers. He can be masculine and pushy and yet isn’t macho and aggression all the time. He also displays a lot of traits that society consider "feminine," such as gentle, compassionate, understanding, yielding, graceful, and beautiful. Most men in our culture have been conditioned to repress their feminine qualities which is a shame. The same thing goes for women when they express masculine qualities. Edward has learned a lot over the years (especially about patience and self-control) and it shows in how he treats others. As we have seen through the course of series, Edward does mistakes and yet he also learns from them and grows, which I think speaks a lot about his character.
